Andrew Corporation and Vivato, Inc. Form Marketing Agreement
to Offer Broad Range, Lower Cost Wi-Fi® Solutions
Orland Park, IL - May 12, 2004 - Andrew Corporation and
Vivato, Inc. have formed a marketing agreement to provide wireless
network operators with a Wi-Fi® solution that provides the broadest
area of coverage with the fewest number of access points, thereby
lowering the cost of deployment.
The agreement combines Andrew's global distribution and wireless
systems integration expertise with Vivato's patented smart antenna
based products, which will be jointly marketed, installed and serviced.
"Using the Andrew-Vivato solution, our Wi-Fi® network
operator customers can provide signal coverage over a large area
with a minimum number of access points", said Jerry Dziki,
Vice-President of Andrew Corp's Broadband Access Group. "In
addition to lowering equipment costs, this solution significantly
reduces the labor costs associated with trenching Ethernet cable
used in conventional access point deployments. Over time, we expect
to broaden our relationship to include product co-development and
cross-licensing agreements."
