VIVATO SWITCHES RECEIVE Wi-Fi CERTIFICATION
Wi-Fi Alliance Certification Ensures 802.11b Interoperability
for the Company's Extended Range Wireless LAN Products
SAN FRANCISCO, CA. - November 3, 2003 - Vivato, a
Wi-Fi infrastructure systems company, today announced its 2.4 GHz
Wi-Fi Switches have received the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED seal from
the Wi-Fi Alliance, ensuring that Vivato's switches are interoperable
with all certified 802.11b products manufactured by other vendors.
Designed for large-scale deployments, Vivato's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Switches
employ patent-pending technology to support standard 802.11b Wi-Fi
devices at distances of up to four kilometers outdoors and 300 meters
indoors. Vivato's smart antenna system and switching electronics
are integrated into a single panel that requires only power and
Ethernet to deploy. Vivato's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Switches are available
through authorized Vivato Value Added Resellers.
"Wi-Fi Certification is a clear indication that a company
is committed to quality and customer satisfaction," said Frank
Hanzlik, managing director of the Wi-Fi Alliance. "This has
become an important criteria to effectively compete in retail and
enterprise markets," continued Hanzlik.
The Wi-Fi Alliance rigorously tests interoperability of WLAN products
based on IEEE 802.11 specifications. The Wi-Fi Alliance seal of
interoperability further ensures the compatibility of Vivato's switches
with any other certified Wi-Fi products.
"Achieving certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance was very
important to Vivato as we are committed to producing standards-based
infrastructure products," said Phil Belanger, vice president
of marketing at Vivato. "Our customers now have the added confidence
that our unique solution will work with the other Wi-fi equipment
in their network."
Product certification tests were conducted at the Wi-Fi Alliance's
San Jose, Calif., laboratory. For more information about Wi-Fi CERTIFIED
