VIVATO PARTNERS WITH MITSUI COMTEK TO MARKET Wi-Fi SWITCHES
IN JAPAN
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - August 5, 2003 - Vivato, a Wi-Fi
infrastructure company, today announced an agreement with Mitsui
Comtek, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co. Ltd. one of

The partnership marks Vivato's entrance into the Japanese market.
Vivato's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi switches include Vivato's patent-pending
PacketSteering technology, which combines Wi-Fi with a smart,
planar phased-array antenna and gigabit Ethernet switching that
offers a unique architecture for Wi-Fi infrastructure. Vivato's
2.4 GHz switches dramatically extend the range of Wi-Fi beyond conventional
Wi-Fi solutions.

and reselling activities in Japan to include distribution of marketing
materials, pre-sales customer development, product demonstrations,
follow-up and support. In addition, Vivato and Mitsui will work
together to secure approvals from Japanese regulatory authorities
for Vivato's unique technology. Vivato will provide Mitsui with
the necessary technical and sales support. Mitsui and Vivato plan
to focus marketing efforts on the telecommunications industry, utility
companies, integrators of technology in commercial buildings and
focused corporate buyers. The Vivato switches, which provide a new
architecture for deploying Wi-Fi, are expected to ship to Japanese
customers in the third quarter of 2003.
"Japan's rapid proliferation of wireless applications make
it an important and strategic market for Vivato," said Ken
Biba, Vivato co-founder, CEO and chairman. "Mitsui's dominant
positioning and expertise in trading and marketing will help drive
our goal of Wi-Fi everywhere."
