VIVATO's NEW WI-FI SWITCH BEAMS WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS IN
OLDEST SECTOR OF NEW ORLEANS
Wi-Fi Company Lights Up New Orleans' French Quarter and the Ernest
N. Morial Convention Center for CTIA 2003
NEW ORLEANS, LA. - March 14, 2003 - Vivato, a Wi-Fi
infrastructure company, is demonstrating its new Vivato 2.4 GHz
Outdoor Switch and the recently launched Vivato 2.4 GHz Indoor Switch
in New Orleans, for the duration of the CTIA Wireless 2003 convention,
which starts on Monday, March 17, 2003 and runs through Wednesday,
March 19. The two deployments, one in Jackson Square and the other
in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, will enable conference
attendees, as well as locals and other visitors to take advantage
of free Internet access through their Wi-Fi enabled devices.
The Vivato Outdoor Switch, which is mounted on the front of Muriel's
Jackson Square Bistro on Chartres Street, is beaming Wi-Fi to the
Jackson Square and the Mississippi riverfront area of the French
Quarter in New Orleans - a very historic area known for its bustling
nightlife, hotel balconies, ritzy restaurants, unique bars and the
famous Café Du Monde.
"We have a vision for the historic French Quarter of New Orleans,"
said Michael Valentino, Managing Partner of Hotel Management of
New Orleans and owner of www.frenchquarter.com. "Our vision
is to create a reliable virtual network that celebrates and ensures
the continued success of our 6 x 16 historic block area - the very
core of our City's culture since 1722. We are looking forward to
trialing Vivato's Outdoor Wi-Fi Switch to see if it is able to penetrate
the dense construction of our area and provide a wireless signal
that will allow us to provide scores of useful applications for
visitors, residents and business alike-helping us to thrive for
another two hundred and eighty years."
At the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, where CTIA Wireless
2003 is taking place, Vivato has also deployed its Indoor Wi-Fi
Switch to provide wireless Internet throughout the 1.1 million square
feet of exhibit space. CTIA 2003 attendees can sign on to Vivato's
free wireless network by setting their Wi-Fi system ID to "VivatoFreeNet".
Once on the network users simply start their web browser and enter
their email address to gain access to the Internet.
"We are excited to be able to demonstrate the outstanding range
and capacity capabilities of our first two products while in New
Orleans at CTIA Wireless 2003," said Ken Biba, Vivato CEO and
Chairman.
